Anatomy: A Love Story

In early nineteenth-century Edinburgh, Hazel Sinnett, the fiancée of a future viscount, yearns to be a doctor more than a wife and mother. Jack is a body snatcher. A chance encounter doesn't seem significant to her at first.

However, when she's expelled from a renowned surgeon's lectures because she's a girl, it seems her new acquaintance might be useful, opening paths to practical knowledge of the human body and corpse dissection. Especially since Hazel absolutely cannot abandon her pursuit: she made a bet with the same lecturer that she could pass the exam through self-study.

Jack is also going through a difficult period. His friends are disappearing, and the streets of Edinburgh are filled with strange and unknown people. Jack and Hazel will seek answers to mysteries on which the life of an entire city depends: an epidemic that broke out a couple of years ago is returning, and the local authorities choose to ignore it.
