Fables

Hryhorii Skovoroda is one of the most famous Ukrainian philosophers, educators, and poets. He is the author of such well-known fables as "The Pike and the Crayfish," "The Eagle and the Tortoise," and "The Bee and the Hornet."

Hryhorii Skovoroda's fables are philosophical miniatures, reflections on congenial work, happiness, and gratitude that should fill every moment of a wise person's life. But first and foremost, they are kind and amusing stories about animals that trick, idle, fear, and get conceited, just like real people. The fable characters will show how important it is to see not only the outer but also the inner essence of things, to undertake work for which one has abilities, not to deceive others, and to value time. "Fables" was compiled and carefully adapted for children by one of the best experts on Hryhorii Skovoroda's work, Professor Leonid Ushkalov, and illustrated by Innocentiy Korshunov, who successfully combined antiquity and modernity, bringing the characters to life. The images created by the artist will undoubtedly bring a smile to the reader's face.
