Without Merit

The family lives in a place that used to be a city church. The seemingly perfect family is drowning in resentments, toxic relationships with each other, and secrets. For example, Merit's father is married to his wife's former nurse, while his cancer-stricken wife is living out her days in the basement. This is just the beginning, as the girl, delving into herself and observing her family, discovers something irreparable. Buying trophies in times of trouble as a defense mechanism no longer seems to help Merit.

This time, she chooses to kill herself, but not before revealing her family's secrets. To die and leave them to learn to live on with a closet from which all the skeletons have fallen out – that's what Merit wanted to do. However, the plan fails. The main character will still have to deal with family relationships, discover even worse things, get angry, and forgive. Does such an eccentric family have a chance at healing?
