George Orwell became world-famous towards the end of his life, when in 1945, with great difficulty, he published the fairy tale, or rather an allegorical parable about the rise of the totalitarian regime in the USSR, "Animal Farm".
In the preface to the Ukrainian edition—it is worth noting that this was the first translation of "Animal Farm" from English into another language—the author primarily stated that it was very important to him for people in the West to see the Soviet regime for what it was. And he did so brilliantly. The main characters of the book are animals, whom their leaders—the intelligent pigs—incited to rebel against their sloppy master. Having seized power, that whole lot of swine immediately forgot the declared rules for a future happy life. What actually happened next is history, studied in textbooks. But it is interpreted in different ways, with people looking for "something good" in totalitarian societies with their poverty, famines, repressions, and total lies. Therefore, it is noteworthy that this work has not lost its relevance.
