Cult is a postmodern mystical horror by a contemporary Ukrainian writer. Young biology teacher Yurko Banzai arrives in the town of Midni Buky in Transcarpathia. The protagonist becomes a lecturer at the local college and immediately attracts the attention of students with his informal teaching style. Yurko's classes are more like eccentric performances, for which he would have long been complained about in an ordinary educational institution, but the college administration is not in a hurry to dismiss the teacher...
One might think that this audacious, cynical, and gloomy man is a true eccentric who should leave Midni Buky. But it will later turn out that the residents of this seemingly idyllic place are, by their nature, no better than the newcomer.
