Izumi Tanaka has become a princess who wears trousers instead of pastel dresses, dates her former bodyguard, and has a dog named Tamagotchi with an unknown pedigree. The princess's father, the Crown Prince, also boldly rejects imperial rules and traditions because he has rekindled his relationship with Izumi's mother. Ms. Tanaka could cause a crisis of succession to the throne, and she is also a feminist with radical views on environmental conservation. And while the imperial court dreams of the end of this relationship, the Crown Prince announces his intention to marry his American beloved. The Imperial Court Council predictably votes against it.

Izumi knows what it's like to not be good enough for the imperial family, so she decides to get a blessing for the marriage. But is she capable of it? And will the freedom-loving princess have to give up her dreams and plans for the sake of her parents' happiness?
