Dark education

A Dark Education is a fantasy novel in which American author S. T. Gibson reinterprets a classic gothic tale through the modern lens of dark academia. Freshman Laura Sheridan arrives at an isolated campus in the forests of Massachusetts. The toxic academic environment of Saint Perpetua coldly greets the girl: Carmilla, the poetry professor's favorite, immediately begins a fierce rivalry with the protagonist. Soon, naive Laura will be drawn into the dark orbit of inappropriate relationships and occult practices of this bizarre place. On her first day of classes, Laura Sheridan is drawn into a fierce rivalry with the charming and mysterious Carmilla. Both are quickly noticed by the charismatic poetry professor, LaFontaine, whose obsession with Carmilla has dark undertones.
