Iron Widow

This is a sci-fi novel about eighteen-year-old Wu Zetian, who decides to avenge her sister's death and joins the army fighting against alien invaders. Surprisingly, the combat machine Chrysalis, named "Nine-Tailed Fox," obeys her. Why is this an extraordinary gift? The thing is, this giant robot requires two pilots: the combined strength of both allows for more effective combat.

The pilots are always a boy and a girl. Disregarding the woman's life, the second pilot enters into a psychological bond with his partner and uses her strength to the last drop, killing her. That's how Wu Zetian's sister died. The surviving girl is ready to take revenge to the last, even if it means breaking age-old rules. Agreeing to be a pilot, she herself kills her partner in the Chrysalis.

Now they fear her and call her the Iron Widow. Perhaps Wu Zetian can change this system and understand why everything is arranged this way?
