I, Benjamin the ficus, knew the answers to all these questions well. I did! For ten carefree years, I sat on the windowsill in the school nurse’s office, right in the middle of a whirlwind of school events, scientific news, medical conferences, and local gossip. But whether by fate or a fateful coincidence, I ended up in the gym changing room, where girls and boys often share their worries and secrets as they change. Oh, what a lot I witnessed! How many questions I could have answered, how many myths and stereotypes I could have debunked, how much advice I could have offered! It turns out that so many people (even adults) don’t know important things about their bodies or their physical and mental health. Well, telling everyone about all this is the duty of every well-informed ficus!
